Economy of Betelgeuse Empty Economy of Betelgeuse

Gold Nuggets are the standard currency on the continent of Betelgeuse, with some shops accepting a more traditional barter system. Gold Nuggets can be earned through selling supplies to a general store, selling items to other players, mining for gold, sponsoring a mining expedition in Legaria*, or by transmuting iron to gold.

Note that transmuting iron to gold is illegal by Legarian law, and if convicted is punishable by jail time.

*Legaria is a city built on redstone and fueled by redstone. However, mining for redstone and other ores is costly. By sponsoring, or investing in, a mining expedition, you are giving yourself the opportunity to strike it rich if the expedition goes well, or lose your investment if it goes poorly.

Trade in Miendienl is held under a bartering system. Whatever you want, you simply need to have something of equal or greater value to trade for. Stone items are a rarity, and wood is abundant.

NOTE - This is still under construction and subject to change.

Will ingots be an acceptable form of currency worth 9 nuggets?

Yes, but only if the amount is evenly divisible by nine. So say you were spending 54g. Six gold ingots would be perfectly acceptable. However, if you were spending 55g, six ingots and one nugget is not acceptable. It would have to be 55 gold nuggets in that situation.

Again, only when the amount is divisible by nine. A gold block is 81 nuggets, so to spend a gold block you would have to be spending 81g, or 162g, or 243g, etc.

Also, spending in Betelgeuse is exact change only.

I like it.

It means that we can now mine for our economy. I hope to be doing a lot of sponsorship for excavations ^^
