What's Going on With Betelgeuse?

Here's how we're planning on things running. Anyone who wishes to continue Roleplaying at the moment, can join two things, they can either join the text-rp, and or they can join the new server. For those who are curious, Eli and I are still working on the story and lore. Bear is the owner, and there are new administrators, which honestly should not effect how players RP. We're trying to keep the community together, and we're still trying to provide the best experience we can.

Eventually, possibly in a couple months, Betelgeuse will be back. We're not giving up completely, we are just taking a much needed break. Finishing school-work, taking breaks from our responsibilities, and saving up some money for payments on the server space.

You hear that? We're not dead. We're still alive, we're still living in Vyrithia! Characters are still emerging that have survived the war between the Miend and the Legarians.. Friends are coming together, stories are taking a turn for the better, and for the worse.

Who knows, maybe some old friends may show up? Maybe new ones will emerge! We still want all of our players to continue having fun. So I'm saying right now, please. From me, and all of the Betelgeuse Administration Team, and from all of the player base.

As of now, I'm calling the new server, The Vyrithia Project. Colloquially of course.

I know everyone's reading this, so I have a question. I want to know what you think makes a good RP. Leave your comments here, and tell me what you think!

A great story, everyone's gotta start at a story, but it should be mildly flexible. People need to know what's going on and how to follow the plot. Oh and, depending on the plot, more than one villain. We should be able to convert one, maybe make extra skins and simply change names for villains so you don't have to be evil all the time ^.^

A good rp includes everyone in the main plot of the story. Everyone has a place, and everyone has a purpose. And everyone is equally important.

Pretty much building on the back of Integra's. A good RP is a well-structured and planned out piece of work which includes everyone in the main story plot in some manner of shape or form. However, this requires the Roleplayers to stay active and be online at expected times and dates. Should someone not be able to RP for a reason, they should really tell someone so that the Admins can find out and make moderations to the RP plot to suit the losses.

I agree with these, only one thing I don't agree with however. I don't think that every single character is as important (per say) as the next. Not everyone can be the protagonist. If everyone was just as important, it would get boring rather quickly. I understand that everyone wants to be that super awesome hero that saves the world, but it's impossible to make everyone that one hero.

Everyone should have a part, but not everyone can be the hero, as you said. Just being, say, the inn-keeper can be a bit fun as well though.

A good example I think for a set of Important people would be akin to say, a DnD party, I feel that one element of the OLD server, and I mean THAT server Sight, had at least one thing going for it. The town that was rebuilt not everyone was some big shot adventurer at first, hell Nani ran a damn good blacksmith, Eli you rocked with that tavern, while still being that amazingly quirky mage, Rawr did wonders as being the farm girl, and everyone was tight, being close but not packed into the town we had to the point of it being brilliant, we have a town by the coast with the port some people have lived there forever, others, could have been new settlers to the small town, some could be adventurers who just came off the boat, that would also help with new arrivals having a port with a boat. What seemed the most fun on the old server was that it had a cozy township feel the only problem was that the admins there and plot folks shoved the plot down our throats and people had FAR to much freedom to suddenly sprout up entire kingdoms, I know you two have the brilliance to think up a very well put together plot Nani's Idea from the old server was great just the admins who executed it borked it. But yeah.

Sorry I haven't been on much felt a wee bit burnt out on minecraft and the RP in general. Hearing that your trying for a third time would definatly be the charm.

So...does that mean it might be a good possibility of having a really normal port town to work with? I do miss that cemetery with the massive vine tree. Was nice.

I really miss Novograd...

Never did see Novograd, but I do miss Betelgeuse. Hard to go back to regular ol' Minecraft after all the fun we had.

Ah, yes. I think most of us miss good old Betelgeuse.

As do we. However, for the time being, we're going to have make the best of what we've got and stick together. We're a good community.
