These are detailed instructions on how to downgrade your .jar file!

1.) Hit WINDOWS+R
2.) Type in %AppData%
3.) Go into the .minecraft folder
4.) Go into the bin folder
5.) Find your .jar file
6.) Left-Click the file One Time
7.) Right-Click the file One Time
8.) Go to Properties
9.) Go the the Previous Versions Tab
10.) Select a Previous Version PRIOR TO UPDATING
11.) Hit apply
12.) ????
13.) PROFIT!

You know, MCNostalgia is a good tool as well. But Sight's way seems good.

I was clever; I keep separate bin folders.

MC Nostalgia has more of a risk of damaging your game/computer. This is the easiest method Sight and I know of to roll back your version.

I did initially use MCnostalgia to backdate my version. But when I used it in this scenario, it kept complaining that my .minecraft was not in vanilla version. That's when I came back here and seen Sight's post.
